Kazakh-Azeri trade heads toward recovery (UPDATED)
BAKU – Positive dynamics is being seen in the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Kazakh Ambassador in Baku, Serik Primbetov, has said.
He told a press conference Monday that Astana hopes to bring bilateral trade in 2010 to the level observed before the global economic crisis began to take its toll in 2009.
"Whereas the trade turnover between the two countries in 2008 made up $465 million, it halved to $236 million in 2009 under the impact of the crisis," the ambassador said, adding that the figure improved in the first half of this year, exceeding $200m.
