E-commerce gets incentive
2008 will see a turning point for the development of e-commerce in Azerbaijan, a communications ministry official said.
Rufat Gulmammadov told reporters that the online payment and online signature systems will begin to be applied in the country next year.
He said the government also planned to provide concessions to boost the development of trading through the world wide web.
"The people will see themselves that e-commerce is easier [than regular commerce]. Everyone will be able to choose clothes or domestic goods and services through websites of online shops, order and pay for them without having to leave their homes," Gulmammadov said.
