BAKU – French-US telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Levent Ozbilgin Country Manager for Azerbaijan, the company said.

Ozbilgin has a bachelor's degree from the Istanbul Technical University and a master's degree in Business Administration from the George Washington University.

Earlier Ozbilgin served as Alcatel-Lucent Customer Service Director. Previously, he worked at the Atos Origin Company, where he was responsible for business development Vodafone Turkey.

Since 2004, he was deputy CEO of US software company Telenity. Ozbilgin also served as a manager responsible for the development of profitability and preventing fraud in the SOTAS Company (Subex).

Key partners and customers of Alcatel in Azerbaijan are production associations Aztelekom and Baku Telephone Communications, as well as Delta Telecom.

Delta Telecom and Alcatel-Lucent signed an agreement in February for the modernization and expansion of the optical transport network across the country on the basis of Zero Touch Photonics and GMPLS technology.
