German businessmen keen on investments in Azerbaijan
BAKU - German businessmen are getting more interested in
investing in Azeri economy.
Wolfgang Aigner, expert of the German Society for Technical
Cooperation (GTZ), said the Germans’ main interest is the
alternative and renewable energy sector.
During a press conference in Baku on Friday, dedicated to the
Azerbaijani delegation's recent visit to Germany, Aigner said that
the entrepreneurs agreed to intensify the bilateral cooperation in
these fields.
The Azeri delegation visited Germany on June 20-29. The tourism
potential of southern Germany was introduced to the Azeri
entrepreneurs during the visit.
The visit was organized by GTZ Program to Support Private Sector,
the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development, Azerbaijani
Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), Azerbaijan
Investment Company (AIC), as well as the Azerbaijan Institute of
Tourism.
The key purpose of the visit was to encourage small and medium
entrepreneurs involved in tourism in Azerbaijan to collaborate with
their German colleagues, as well as to facilitate cooperation
between the government institutions of two countries and promote
German investments in Azerbaijan, Aigner said.
