Azeri president opens businesses in southern region
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the country’s southern
regions on Friday where he attended the opening of several
enterprises and facilities.
During his visit to the Lankaran district, President Aliyev inaugurated a canned food factory in a local village.
The factory, encompassing an area of 10 hectares, has been supplied with advanced equipment manufactured by Italy’s Padovan company and has the capacity to produce 30 tons of food per hour. A refrigerating warehouse with the capacity of 2,000 tons has been built on-site.
While in the Sutemurdov village of Lankaran, President Aliyev also participated at the opening of a tea factory. Aliyev observed the production process and looked at samples of produced goods.
The factory will process 100 tons of tealeaves per year. At the initial stage, the finished product will be put on sale under two brands – Imperial and Lankaran.
The president also attended the opening of an ice-cream factory of the Palfood company, which is part of the Palmali Holding. The factory will produce ice-cream of 28 types, with its monthly capacity amounting to 500,000 liters.*
