Azerbaijan ‘may turn into regional finance center’
Azerbaijan may turn into the financial center in the region,
chairman of the State Securities Committee has said.
Rufat Aslanly said that, while establishing its investment funds, Azerbaijan had used Luxembourg’s experience as a guideline. He noted that Luxembourg is a transport hub for Europe, while Azerbaijan is that of the region it is located in, and such hubs have extensive potential to become the heart of regional finance.
The Committee chairman said that, presently, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey are all trying to assume the role of regional centers of finance. However, these countries, themselves, admit that Azerbaijan is the most suitable country for that role.*
