EFSE allots $5m loan to Azeri bank
The European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) has signed a loan
agreement of $5 million with Azerbaijan’s Bank Respublika for
on-lending to small business. The allocation, provided during
EFSE’s annual meeting in Ohrid, Macedonia, is the Fund’s first
investment in the country.
Bank Respublika will use the proceeds to finance investments and operating capital of small businesses in Azerbaijan.
EFSE’s loan will support Bank Respublika’s aims to significantly expand lending to MSEs, particularly in rural areas of the country.
The credit is being provided under the European Neighborhood Small Business Growth Facility (ENBF), a dedicated European Neighborhood window within the EFSE structure.*
