Hyundai offers luxury cars in Baku
Hyundai Auto Azerbaijan held the opening ceremony of
a car dealership to sell premium-class vehicles in Baku last
Friday, aiming to win customers from luxury rivals.
Konul Karimova, the company’s manager, said Genesis Gallery, which will serve primarily VIP customers, will sell Hyundai Motor Co.-made Genesis, Genesis Coupe and Equus vehicles. These brands are being made available based on the company’s "To produce the best cars" mission statement, successfully implemented since 1999.
Karimova said Hyundai Auto Azerbaijan, the leader of Azerbaijan’s car market, was the first to have delivered Genesis sedan, Genesis Coupe and Equus models to the domestic market, among CIS states, just like other topnotch models.
Vugar Bayramov, the company’s authorized representative, says Hyundai had been known as a manufacturer of medium-class cars before it launched production of the Genesis brand. With the production of Genesis, Genesis Coupe and Equus models, the situation has drastically changed. Both Genesis and Equus premium-class cars fully meet high standards. Prices for these automobiles, operating on up-to-date V6 and V8 engines with 300 horsepower, start from 29,900 manats ($37,375). The two cars are the largest in the premium class. Charismatically designed, these cars have all features of the premium class vehicles tailored to the needs of VIP customers: pneumatic suspension, ASD providing for softness on tough roads, etc. Both Genesis and Equus have in-built hit-resistant cushions and both models have been granted five-star ratings during "crash tests". The Hyundai Genesis was named the 2009 North American Car of the Year.
Bayramov said that, overall, Hyundai Motor Co.’s policies have substantially improved in past years and focused on quality-based corporate philosophy. As a result of applying this philosophy in practice, these vehicles have been rated the highest in their class during substantial research, including J.D. Power research in 2002. The company’s production has more than tripled over the past ten years.
Hyundai Motor currently exports cars to over 200 countries, with annual sales exceeding 3 million vehicles. Hyundai has been one of the top five brands among the world’s 100 major carmakers for several consecutive years. The company ranked fourth in 2009.
