Nakhchivan car plant to be launched in weeks
A car-manufacturing plant being built in
Azerbaijan`s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will be operating
within a month as construction at the site is drawing to a close, a
source from the Nakhchivan Automobile Plant told AssA-Irada.
In the initial stage, 108 vehicles from Chinese carmaker Lifan will be assembled at the plant in four models and sold under the NAZLIFAN brand. The company`s executives believe that the cars, which are the best choice in terms of price and quality, will soon become popular in the Azerbaijani market.
Prices for Lifan cars in world markets range from $8,000 to $20,000, depending on the model.
The Nakhchivan plant and Lifan earlier this year signed a document on cooperation in manufacturing automobiles.
