Azerbaijan starts gold exports
Azerbaijan has sent its first portion of gold, 1,200
troy ounces, to Switzerland to be refined and subsequently sold in
world markets.
Last week the Azerbaijani government and US-based RV Investment Group signed a protocol to export gold from the country.
Reza Vaziri, president of RV Investment Group, said the exports will make 2,000 troy ounces in August, adding that the country will export 4,000 ounces of gold per month from September.
The price of gold is $950 per ounce in world markets.
