Payment terminals of Azerbaijan adapted to receive bills of new denomination

Centers for installation and service support of payment terminals adapt their devices to accept payments with 200-manat banknotes, MilliON company told Trend.

The work is carried out by the company in this direction provides for updating the software of the terminals. The development of appropriate software is already underway.

In turn, the Modenis company (the owner of the eManat terminals) reported that it will begin to adapt to the new bills in the near future, and the function of receiving 200-manat bills will appear in the e-GovPay terminals, as soon as the new banknotes go into circulation.

Currently, ExpressPay, "ASAN Odenish", Easypay, Pulpay and payment terminals of the International Bank of Azerbaijan are also present in the payment terminal market of Azerbaijan.

Payment terminals are designed to pay for utilities, fixed and mobile communication services, Internet, cable TV, to receive payments on bank loans and others. They are installed in public places (business centers, waiting rooms, railway stations and airports, shopping centers and supermarkets).

In turn, the AzeriCard processing center announced that it has technically provided the process of issuing and receiving new 200-manat bills in ATMs serviced by the center.

"The solution of the technical aspect didn’t require much effort. Filling of ATMs with new banknotes is an internal business of banks. Banks themselves should make the decision regarding in which volume and which ATMs will be loaded with new bills. This is an individual case of each bank. Some banks have already provided reception and issuance of these banknotes. For our part, we have also provided technical support for this process," AzeriCard said.

Currently, AzeriCard provides processing and support to 22 banks in Azerbaijan and abroad.
