Gov`t prepares anti-crisis program
The Azerbaijani government has developed a program
to respond to the global economic crisis. The document is currently
under consideration.
A former Cabinet official, Ogtay Hagverdiyev, has said he was aware of such a document. It foresees bringing back some of the money kept outside Azerbaijan and channeling it by local banks into the real sector. The plan also stipulates the creation of jobs.
The program outlines which sectors of the national economy will represent higher priority in developing the state budget for 2010.
Hagverdiyev said the plan could be adopted in parliament in May.
