UEFA investigating racist behavior at Croatia-Italy qualifier
By Bloomberg
European soccer’s governing body UEFA said it’s investigating racist behavior and crowd disturbances from Croatian fans at a qualifying match with Italy.
In addition, both teams are being investigated for setting off fireworks or missiles, UEFA said in an e-mailed statement.
The teams drew 1-1 at the Nov. 16 match in Milan and are tied at the top of Group H for the 2016 European championship. UEFA said its ethics body will deal with the case on Dec. 11.
Serbia and Albania are appealing UEFA sanctions after their qualifying match was abandoned last month because of violence and a remote-controlled aircraft over the field.
