Swiss female shooter wins another gold medal at Baku European Games
Swiss female shooter Heidi Diethelm Gerber won the gold medal in women’s 25m pistol shooting within the framework of the first European Games in Baku.
She defeated Bulgarian Antoaneta Boneva, having scored 8 points in the finals, while Boneva got silver medal with 4 points.
German Monika Karsch, who gained victory over Russian Yuliya Alipova, grabbed the bronze medal.
Until now, the Swiss team had altogether nine medals: four gold medals, four silver ones and one bronze medal.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
