Azerbaijani judoka seeks to win Baku 2015 gold

The member of Azerbaijani judo team, Rustam Orujov, who will represent the country in the First European Games, is confident of winning a medal.

“We are preparing for the First European Games very seriously,” he told Trend on June 9.
The judoka said that the results of the athletes depend on the training level.

“Currently, we have trainings in Goygol. Each athlete hopes to win a medal and each of us would like to win a gold medal,” said the judoka.

“I will try to win a gold medal,” said Orujov. “We are doing our best, preparing at a high level to show a high result.”

Recalling that three gold medals and one bronze medal were won in the last four competitions, the judoka said he won’t content with this and is preparing seriously for the upcoming Games.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
