Race dedicated to European Games held in Baku

A race of volunteers was held in Baku on May 11, dedicated to the Baku 2015 First European Games.

The race started at the Baku International Sea Trade Port and ended at the new Ferris wheel in the seaside boulevard.

The race’s winner was awarded a cup and tickets to the opening ceremony of the European Games.

Those who came in second and third were awarded cups and prizes from the local Nar mobile operator.

Vusal Bakirov, a specialist of the department for work with volunteers of the European Games said this is the last event organized for the volunteers.

He said the aim of the race was to demonstrate the preparatory work, as well as the volunteers of the First European Games.

Baku was honored to host the Games by the European Olympic Committees in December 2012. Baku 2015 European Games will gather over 6,000 athletes from 50 countries to compete in 20 sports, including 16 Olympic.
