Why doesn't US do what it urges Azerbaijan to do?
By Aynur Gasimova
What are the differences between the laws of the US and Azerbaijan? In fact, there is no any difference. The punishment for any illegal acts must be in accordance with the law in both countries.
Nevertheless, there is a discrepancy over the word ‘must’.
The US and European countries state that this ‘must’ in these countries is fundamentally different from that of in Azerbaijan.
The riots in the US Ferguson are another proof of that. During these riots, the police arrested over 80 protesters which are accused of theft, arson and illegal mass actions.
Reuters and Associated Press reported that the protesters set fire to tens of buildings and several police cars, showcases were broken in many shops and restaurants. Moreover, it was reported about the cases of looting in the city.
A state of emergency was declared in Ferguson and additional forces of the National Guard were sent there.
We will not go into the details of what has happened, since riots in any country can only be regarded as illegal actions.
The interesting fact is that when crowds of raging youths commit such actions in Azerbaijan and the police take adequate, legal measures in response, the West negatively reacts to this.
It turns out that Western politicians propose to look at everything through one’s fingers, not to interfere in what is happening, not to detain looters, arsonists and members of illegal actions.
Then why don’t they do this themselves?
