Artificial beauty or requirement of modern times?
By Sabina Idayatova
How fashionable it is today to look young! To stay young forever is actually a dream of everyone, especially women. But following this trend requires a lot of money, time and at times even sacrificing your health.
Cosmetic surgery comes to mind as the best remedy to accomplish this goal.
Nowadays, cosmetic surgery has grown more popular for modern people. Some people believe it can bring fantastic changes and really give a brilliant look to a person.
Women looking to enhance their image are usually the first thing that comes to mind when cosmetic surgery is mentioned. Today, not only the young, but also adult women aged 60-62 resort to plastic and reconstructive surgery.
This type of surgery ranges from tiny corrections to drastic changes, but the basic aim remains to achieve a beautiful appearance. Still, there are pros and cons to such operations. While some people accept it as a free choice of an individual, others strongly oppose it saying cosmetic surgery involves risks, which may cause serious diseases.
Perfect looks
Looking pretty and young remains a coveted goal for many. But could a person achieve perfect looks after the long-desired and risky surgery?
The examples are quite contradictory. Many celebrities following this tendency of looking beautiful unfortunately had one or more cosmetic surgery failures which caused them to look shapeless and in some cases even awful. It's hard to find a completely natural face and body on the red carpet these days, and it seems that essentially everyone in Hollywood has undergone at least little changes in their appearance with varying degrees of success.
Some look so gorgeous that it would be hard to tell they underwent surgeries, while others are probably victims of unsuccessful cosmetic surgeries.
Hollywood celebrities resort to surgeries in the pursuit of perfection, spending millions for puffy lips and stretched-out faces. Some celebrities have tried to rejuvenate themselves with plastic surgery and ended up with a somewhat odd-looking face or unsuccessful breast implants. As a result of those improperly done cosmetic surgeries, afteraffects such as scarring, disfigurement, infection and different psychological problems may haunt those affected throughout their lives. For example, according to American research conducted among surgery victims, 50% of those patients were diagnosed with depression, 20% with substance abuse and 29% suffered personality disorders.
As all operations plastic surgeries have risks. If carried out improperly, plastic surgery can lead to scarring, odd deformities, infections, the need for a repeated operation and sometimes can even cause death.
The most common of all plastic and reconstructive surgeries are nose surgeries, breast sculpture, body sculpture and eyelid sculpture that women -- and sometimes men -- go through to achieve what they consider to be good appearance.
Plastic surgery in Azerbaijan
The rising number of those wishing to stay beautiful at any age has stimulated the development of this sphere in Azerbaijan. The practice of plastic surgeries came to Azerbaijan a few decades ago and gained popularity as a new tendency to aspire toward beautiful looks. Botox injections, breast implants and nose jobs are the most common plastic surgeries. Changes in the facial lines, namely opening of wrinkles and corrugation, as well as face and eyelid tightening are in second place.
Today, a number of clinics specializing in the field of Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery operate in Azerbaijan. But still many,
in particular celebrities, prefer foreign doctors in neighboring
countries such as Turkey, Russia and Iran as well as European
ones.
The cost of such operations depends on the clinic, the doctor
performing the surgery, and many other factors. The most expensive
kind of plastic surgeries are breast and buttocks enlargement that
cost up to 2,000 manats (over $2,500). The cost of a nose operation
varies from 850 manats to 1,200 manats. The average cost of
liposuction is 1,500 manats, while abdominoplasty costs 2,500
manats.
Often patients' anxiety over their appearance is linked to underlying psychological issues, such as depression, and may be temporarily alleviated by surgery. But it should also be noted that the confidence coming from a new nose, implanted breasts or liposuction is only temporary and at times the patient has to undergo many such procedures again.
Beauty is having a natural appearance. But if a little transformation could make you look absolutely striking, then perhaps there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery if you are willing to undertake potential risks and apply to highly skilled surgeons.
