EP should condemn massacres committed by Armenians

European Parliament’s resolution on the “Armenian genocide” is a proof of double standards, said German expert Matthias Dornfeld.

Dornfeld, the chairman of European Institute for Caucasus and Caspian Studies in Berlin said he has already issued a complaint to German members of the European Parliament regarding this issue.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.

If the European Parliament members discuss this issue [“Armenian genocide”], they should condemn the massacre committed by Armenians against the Muslim population in East Anatolia and Caucasus in 1914-1920, Dornfeld told Trend .

The expert added that he is starting a research project on the topic, using various archives in Germany.

The European Parliament adopted a resolution on the centennial of the so-called "Armenian genocide" during its plenary session on April 15. It will reportedly boost Armenia and its patrons all over the world to press on their fallacious claims that Turkey committed a "genocide" against Armenians.

Turkey denounced the EP's biased decision in view of the 1915 events, dismissing the resolution's adoption as "senseless".

Ankara announced that it will ignore the resolution since the EP has no accreditation when it comes to judging history, especially without any hard facts to back its claims.
