Armenian terror threatens worldwide

Terror does not discriminate. It does not differentiate between nationality and politics. Armenian terror is not different in this context.

When it comes to terrorism many Armenians speak out against it, but when it has to do with Armenian-driven terrorism they seem to be of a different mind. Looking back through Armenia's recent history reveals an insidious organization that has targeted to establish "greater Armenia" through violence.

One of the notorious Armenian terror organizations, Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, marks the 40th year of its establishment this year since its first bloodshed in Beirut, Lebanon, in January 1975.

ASALA was established by immigrant Armenian youth headed by Agop Agopyan who turned to violence and armed struggle as a means of achieving his two "sacred" goals: to urge Turkey to confess the "genocide" against Armenians in 1915 and to annex the lands in eastern Turkey into "greater Armenia."

ASALA's numerous terror actions committed between 1970 and 1980 around the world against Turkish diplomats resulted in the deaths of more than 40 Turkish diplomats.

Broken promises from European countries to help Armenians attain their dream of creating a "greater Armenia" has brought ASALA back to the forefront of its struggle after stepping into the shadows for extended periods of time.

ASALA committed four consecutive terror acts in Switzerland in July 1981, targeting the federal parliament, Zurich Airport, a Lausanne department store and a Geneva bus station, killing one and injuring 31.

The U.S. Department of State included ASALA in its list of terrorist organizations in the 1980s. The National Counterterrorism Center of the U.S. said ASALA committed 84 terror attacks, 46 killings and 299 injures worldwide.

In early the 1990s ASALA officially announced it would disband.

Another report by Armenia Today, a media outlet in Armenia, said ASALA has organized over 400 terror acts all over the world through the years of its existence. Sislyan, member of the organization, has even boasted over the bloody actions, saying their plans reached the main goal, in other words, ASALA managed to kill, blast, injure.

Armenian terror organizations arranged 373 terror actions against Azerbaijan in the first years of independence. They killed and injured thousands of Azerbaijanis as a result of bloody Khojaly genocide, Azer Salimov, teacher of the National Security Ministry's Academy after Heydar Aliyev, has said at the event dedicated to the Armenian terror in November.

Sadval, an Armenian terrorist group organized two deadly blasts in the Baku metro in 1994, killing 27 and injuring 107.

The very recent threats from ASALA Fighters, successor of ASALA, have been delivered to Azerbaijan's embassy in Hungary in September, 2012, warning they would kill Azerbaijani diplomats, students studying abroad, businessmen, activists in the Diaspora organizations and etc.

ASALA Fighters named Turkey, Azerbaijan and Zionists as the main enemies of the Armenian people.

ASALA, Sadval, Orly, Armenian Unity, Apostle, Geqaron, Dashnaksutyun and other numerous terror groups have brought ill-fame to Armenia.

The whole world is fighting against terrorism in our days. The big powers of the planet calls on everyone to take a stand against terrorism. But, the Armenian terror, a part of global terrorism, still poses a threat to the peace and stability, both in the world and in the region. It would better for the Armenian authorities to eradicate the Armenia-rooted terror groups, instead of calling for a recognition of the so-called and unproven "Armenian genocide."
