Armenian militaries breach ceasefire 29 times throughout the day

The Armenian armed units shattered ceasefire with Azerbaijan a total of 29 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported on November 15.

The Armenian armed forces, stationed in Armenia`s Barekamavan village in Noyemberyan region and nameless hills in Berd and Krasnoselsk regions subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces located at nameless hills in Gazakh region, Munjuglu village in Tovuz region and Gadabay region.

The ceasefire was also violated near the Goyarkh village in Tartar region, Garagashli village in Aghdam region , Kuropatkino village in Khojavand region, Horadiz and Gorgan villages in Fuzuli region, as well as nameless hills in Tartar, Goronboy, Jabrayil and Fuzuli regions.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. The 1994 ceasefire agreement was followed by peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
