Three clubs to represent Azerbaijan in Champions League playoff
German Dresden has hosted the match of sixth round in volleyball Champions League between women's teams Dresdner (Germany) and Azerrail (Azerbaijan), News.az website reported.
Germans turned stronger in the first and the second set -26:24, 25:23. Azerrail managed to win in the third set-25:15. But the match could not be rescued-Dresdner won again in the fourth set - 25:22.
Regardless of the outcome of this match, the Baku club would have entered the playoff of the Champions League anyway. This came out after Turkey's Ejzajibashi VitrA beat Polish Tauron (3:1). Thus Poland failed to beat Azerrail who after Rabita and Locomotive became the third Azerbaijani club that reached the playoff.
Standings in Group D:
1. Ejzajibashi - 17 points, bouts - 18-5 (played 6)
2. Azerrail - 7, 10-14 (6)
3. Tauran - 6, 11-14 (6)
4. Dresdner - 6, 9-15 (6)
