National karate fighters win gold medals

Azerbaijani karate fighters have brought home five medals, including two gold, from the World Karate Championships held in Burgas, Bulgaria.
The gold medals came from Sadi Namazov (85kg) and Aziz Abbasov (60kg), Azertac reported.
The World Karate Championships are the highest level of competition for Karate. The competition is held in a different city every two years. The competition was initially riddled with controversy regarding Karate stylists and the ruleset.
This year, the tournament brought together more than 1000 fighters from 55 countries.
