A three-day "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT-2014) international exhibition and conference, organized by the Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources Ministry, Chamber of Commerce with the participation of British Summit Trade Events Ltd kicked off in Ashgabat.

The main topic of the conference is "International cooperation in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan: potential, achievement, priorities".

The representatives of the world business circles will be informed about the prospects of developing the oil and gas industry in the country. They will have the opportunity to determine the forms of further cooperation and examine investment opportunities in relation to the Turkmen market, the organizers said.

The heads of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan, international oil, gas and service companies, equipment manufacturers and financial institutions will attend the conference.

Turkmenistan ranks second on the largest natural gas reserves in the CIS area after Russia. At present, the supplies are made to Russia, Iran and China. The annual natural gas production is planned to be brought up to 250 billion cubic meters, while oil production - up to 110 million tons in 2030 in accordance with the Turkmen oil and gas development programme.

The large-scale oil and gas exploration, production, transportation, refining, providing the domestic market with oil products, as well as the development of export routes of natural gas and petroleum product supply will continue to accomplish these tasks.

An exhibition is underway during the conference. It informs about the companies and state-owned enterprises operating in various fields, namely, exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources, development of fields, leading manufacturers’ supply of drilling equipment and technologies, oil and gas transportation, storage and processing and many others.
