"Steppe Eagle" int'l peacekeeping exercises due in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan will host the international special tactical peacekeeping exercises "Steppe Eagle" in 2015, Kazakh Defense Ministry said.

The Steppe Eagle exercises first were held in 2003. Kazakhstan, along with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Germany and the UK has participated there.

This year, the exercises were held outside of Kazakhstan for the first time, in Germany.
About 150 Kazakh troops participated in the exercises.

The closing ceremony of the peacekeeping exercise "Steppe Eagle 2014" was organized in the U.S .Armed Forces joint multinational training center in Germany.

The concept of the "Steppe Eagle" has been fully implemented, the training activities and working out the peacekeeping procedures in practice have been successfully conducted, the ministry said.
