Kyrgyzstan seeks to strengthen fight against crime
Kyrgyz Prime Minister Jantoro Satybaldiev demanded the Interior Ministry and State National Security Committee to start productive fight with members of organized crime groups, the government reported.
"We have all witnessed when the media showed a video where members of an organized crime group via blackmail extorted large sum of money from the Kumtor Company's management," Satybaldiev said at the governmental meeting.
According to him, earlier it was declared repeatedly that disorders in the Jeti-Oguz district are performed by interested and destructively minded persons in close cooperation with members of organized crime groups.
The Prime Minister underscored that when major investment projects are carried out in the field of mining production, the various political groups have begun to seriously affect the social environment.
According to Satybaldiev, members of organized crime groups, using patriotic slogans, manipulate the minds of ordinary citizens and lead them to meetings.
He said that Interior Ministry did not made significant progress in the fight against organized crime groups.
Satybaldyev instructed to complete the initiated criminal investigation into the extortion of large sums of money from the management of Kumtor Company.
