Oman ambassador accredited in Turkmenistan

Chairperson of the Turkmen parliament Gulshat Mammadova received credentials from the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman (with residence in Ankara) Qasim Mohammad Salim Al Salhi, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen government.
The ambassador stressed his country’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan, including in establishing trade, business and cultural contacts, the report said.
A meeting was also held in the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. The sides expressed their commitment to the development of political dialogue and the intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
An agreement to create an international transport and transit corridor between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qatar, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was signed in Ashgabat in April 2011. This agreement aims to create a reliable link between the countries of Central Asia and the ports of Persian and Oman gulfs.
In accordance with the implementation of Turkmenistan's national program for development of the civil aviation, the country's national air carrier (Turkmenistan Airlines) plans to open air service from Ashgabat to Kuwait, Muscat, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Cairo.
