Switzerland will help Kazakhstan develop year-round tourism in national parks and mountain areas, as says the memorandum of cooperation signed between Kazakhstan’s national company Kazakh Tourism and Switzerland’s Swiss Tourism, Kazakh media reported.

The document was signed during the working visit of Kazakh Tourism delegation, headed by the Chairman of the Board Rashid Kuzembayev, to Switzerland.

During the visit to Geneva and Zurich, Kazakh Tourism representatives gave a presentation about Kazakhstan and investment projects from the Top 10 of the country’s tourist map, met with the World Economic Forum’s representatives on Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index, as well as with the leadership of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and other organizations.

Following the meetings, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, according to which Switzerland will assist Kazakhstan in the development of year-round tourism in national parks and mountain areas, as well as in adaptation and introduction of standards for training mountain guides and ski instructors.

The document is also aimed at mutual support in promoting tourism products, exchanging information and deepening international cooperation.
