Uzbekistan and India intend to create a Technopark of software and innovative products.

Given India’s great experience in the development of technology parks, Uzbekistan is interested in working with leading technology parks in India, including the Software Technology Parks Society of India (STPI) to create and develop modern platforms for developing software products and tools, the Uzbek Ministry of Finance reported.

Indian partners were invited to consider the possibility of creating a Technopark of software and innovative products in Uzbekistan based on their experience, according to the ministry.

The Software Technology Parks Society of India was created in 1991 to promote and encourage software exports. It provides legislative and other services to exporters to promote products, encourages the activities of micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs by creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurship in the field of information technology.

Uzbekistan is also interested in cooperation and exchange of experience with India in the field of e-government development.

In the framework of the recent visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, agreements to hold joint activities in this direction were reached between the Center for the Development of Electronic Government of Uzbekistan and the National Center for Informatics of India. In particular, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding.

Starting from this year, the development of space technologies and the use of space for peaceful purposes is a new area of activity of the Ministry of Finance. During the visit, an agreement was signed between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of India on cooperation in the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes.

In accordance with the agreement of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will work together in this area.

ISRO, headquartered in Bangalore, is the National Space Agency, subordinate to the Department of Space Research of India.
