Turkmenistan fulfills cotton harvest plan

More than 1.50 million tons of raw cotton have been collected in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen government said in a message.
According to the message, the total area of land allotted for cotton is 545,000 hectares.
The country's farmers continue to pick cotton and the picked cotton is delivered to the cotton processing enterprises.
Cotton is the main raw material for the textile industry of Turkmenistan. Moreover, it is an important export product.
The country supplies cotton to China, Russia, the UK, South Korea, Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Singapore, Ukraine and the Baltic countries.
Cotton products are sold through auctions in Turkmenistan’s commodity and raw materials exchange.
