Cement plant construction completed in Uzbekistan

Turkish Dal Teknik Makina Company has completed its project on the expansion of the capacities of the cement plant in Jizzakh region, Uzbekistan up to 1 million tons of cement a year. The total cost of the project is $35.8 million.
The project is expected to increase capacity of production and produce additional 260,000 tons of cement a year. The capacity of the plant is expected to increase by 31.6 percent. The quality of the products will be improved as well. It is planned to export 97% of produced white cement and 14% of Portland cement.
The project on the expansion of the capacities started in 2015 and was financed by the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (FRDU), which issued a loan of $14 million, own resources of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine ($ 9 million) and the loan of Uzbek “Ipoteka Bank” ($12.8 million).
AGMK launched a plant on production of Portland cement and white cement in Zafarabad district of Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan in March 2014. The project with the worth of US$114.2 million was also financed by loans of the FRDU, which amounted to $74.2 million and own resources of AGMK ($40 million). Dal Teknik Makina is the general contractor of the project.
In 2015, the enterprise produced 510,385 tons of cement while the volume of export of white and Portland cement stood at 5,500 and 10,000 tons respectively. The enterprise is planning to produce up to 650,000 tons of cement in 2016.
Currently, six cement plants with the total annual capacity of more than 7 million tons are operating in Uzbekistan.The largest of them are Kyzylkumcement (3.08 million metric tons), Akhangarancement (1.74 million metric tons) and JSC Kuvasaycement (920,000 metric tons).
