The ambassador noted Mexico is interested in cooperating with Azerbaijan in the field of energy.

Flores said trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Mexico hits $2 million. He also added Mexico is keen onincreasing this turnover, saying energy cooperation would play an important role in this regard.

Aliyev, in his turn, highlighted steadily developing relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico, saying cooperation in energy field would contribute to strengthening bonds.

Mexico recognized Azerbaijan's independence in 1991 and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992.
