Gas swap between Iran and Nakhchivan resumed

Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Javad Owji said that Iran and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan has resumed gas swap operation.

"Iran is currently exporting gas to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Baku will resume exporting gas to Tehran in the coming days," Mehr News Agency quoted Owji as saying.

Owji added that, Tehran is negotiating with Azerbaijan on suspending of gas supply, and they said that the problem will be solved soon and the supply of gas will be resumed.

The transportation of gas from Azerbaijan to Iran was suspended from July 2 due to repair work on the Astara-Kazimagomed main gas pipeline, SOCAR reported earlier.

Azerbaijan supplies gas to Iran within the framework of swap operations to provide the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with gas.
