South Pars gas output to rise by 278 mln cubic meters

Iranian South Pars offshore gas field's production capacity will be increased by some 278 million cubic meters once the Mehr Mandegar projects come on stream, IRNA news agency reported.

Some 414,000 barrels of gas condensates, 220 tons of sulphur, 4 3 million tons of LPG, and four million tons of ethane will also be added to the gas field's production capacity, IRNA reported.

The Mehr Mandegar projects include South Pars gas field's phases 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, and 24.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight per cent of the total world reserves.
