Azerbaijan, EU share ‘mutual interests’ on energy
Azerbaijan is a key partner of the European Union and shares mutual interests with the Union in the energy sector, EU Delegation head Roland Kobia said in Baku Friday.
As a historical oil producer located in a resources-rich region, Azerbaijan has great potential for cooperation with EU countries, Kobia told an official business dinner of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham).
Kobia mentioned that core values of the EU fit with Azerbaijani values. Azerbaijan is close to the EU geographically, and the bloc is interested in peace, stability and prosperity of its neighbors, he added.
On the trade issue, Kobia said he would like to see the Azerbaijani market as more competitive and open to young entrepreneurs.
The ambassador also said such important energy resources as wind and solar energy can be successfully used in Azerbaijan.
