Socar seeks to buy Turkey’s biggest gas network
İSTANBUL – Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar will participate in an international tender on the sale of Turkey’s biggest gas distribution network, an official of the company has said.
Vagif Aliyev said Istanbul’s gas network accounts for 20 percent of Turkey’s gas consumption, or up to 6.5 billion cubic meters per year.
A number of major Russian and European companies will stand in the tender as well.
