Iraq oil flow to Turkey on hold since Sunday – shipper
AMMAN – Crude oil pumping from northern Iraq's Kirkuk oil fields has been on hold since Sunday on a technical fault, a Middle East shipping agent said Monday.
"We are really not sure, but they said it is a technical fault against the section of the export pipeline inside Turkey," the agent told Dow Jones Newswires by telephone from the Turkish export terminal at Ceyhan.
This is the third time the flow has been suspended this month, sometimes due to technical faults and other times blamed on sabotage.
Iraq usually exports an average of 400,000 barrels a day through the 790-kilometer Iraq-Turkey pipeline which extends from the Kirkuk oil fields to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.
