US, European officials to attend Baku oil exhibition
US Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, Richard Morningstar, is
due to visit Azerbaijan next week. The main goal of the visit is to
attend the international Caspian oil and gas exhibition and
conference, to be held in Baku June 1-4, according to the US
embassy.
The Morningstar-led delegation will include US Department of Energy
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and International
Affairs, Jonathan Elkind.
While in the Azerbaijani capital, Morningstar is also expected to
hold a number of meetings.
Heinz Hilbrecht, Director for the European Commission’s Directorate
of General Energy and Transport, will also arrive in Baku for the
annual oil and gas show. On June 2, Hilbrecht will deliver an
address at the general session of the conference focusing on
European energy geo-politics and Azerbaijan's role in it.
The 17th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference
incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals will be organized by
British ITE Group PLC and Iteca Caspian, the company’s partner in
the South Caucasus region.*
