Over 91m tons of oil exported via BTC
A total of 91,251,000 tons of oil have been pumped
into the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline, which
transports Azerbaijan`s crude to world markets through Georgia and
Turkey.
20,935,000 tons were transported through the conduit in January-July. The volume of transported crude made up 3,193,000 tons in July alone, according to the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR.
The BP-operated BTC pipeline, which began exporting crude in 2006, pumps oil being extracted from Azerbaijan`s major Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields in the Caspian Sea.
