Gas supplies to Turkey cut
The volume of gas supplies to Turkey from
Azerbaijan`s largest gas field of Shahdaniz has been reduced from
18 to 12 million cubic meters a day following Turkey`s decision to
lower imports, the Azerbaijani state oil company, SOCAR, said.
Daily output from Shahdaniz is now 18-22 million cubic meters.
Official reports say that the field holds 1.5 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Azerbaijan plans to produce 24 billion cubic meters of gas in 2009, including 9 billion from Shahdaniz.
