President Aliyev signs order on extra measures to improve housing conditions of IDP families
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on extra measures to improve the housing conditions of IDP families.
Under the order, 2.5 million manats was allocated from the President’s Contingency Fund to the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs in order to provide the IDP families, who were temporarily settled in outdated buildings in Baku, with new apartments through buying ready housing.
Over one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) as a result of Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani territories in early 1990s.
As a result of the Armenian occupation, one in every eight persons in Azerbaijan has been compelled to live as a refugee and internally displaced person.
