Absheron beaches under inspection

In these hot summer days, thousands of Azerbaijani citizens and guests of the country come to the Absheron beaches to relax and swim in the Caspian sea waters. Therefore, beach owners should be ready to provide their visitors with safe and healthy conditions. To check the current situation on the beaches, the Main Police Department of Baku allocated several squads to beaches, malls and other public places of recreation of the capital.

They have inspected 86 facilities for the observance of sanitary-hygienic and epidemiologic norms and legal requirements on industrial and domestic waste, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

The audits resulted in drawing up of records regarding 16 object owners in Khazar and Sabunchi, and four in Surakhani districts under Article 211 of the code of administrative offences (violation of legal requirements on industrial and household waste). Moreover, three other object owners were penalized under Article 266.3 (dumping of waste in inappropriate places).

In order to protect the health of citizens, prevent infectious diseases and eliminate the unsanitary conditions at beaches, Baku Police will continue audits to the end of beach season.

Recently, Baku city Executive Power tasked the heads of Binagadi, Sabail, Khazar, Sabunchu, Surakhani and Garadagh districts’ Executive Powers to create all necessary conditions for efficient relaxation of the population. In particular, they were instructed to make sure that the beach areas and coastal zones of Baku are in appropriate conditions, and to keep the territories clean.

The important moment is that the entrance to the beaches and coastal area is free, and the Baku districts’ Executive authorities have been entrusted to monitor their compliance with this requirement.

Moreover, almost all the Azerbaijani beaches were declared suitable for swimming by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. It assured that monitoring of the coastal water will be held systematically throughout the whole vacation season to ensure the safety and healthcare of visitors.
