Aliyev becomes grandfather
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has become a
grandfather. The president`s daughter, Leyla Aliyeva, has given
birth to twin boys.
Aliyeva is married to Emil Aghalarov, the son of Azerbaijani businessman Araz Aghalarov, one of Russia`s top entrepreneurs.
The Council of Europe (CE) Secretary General Terry Davis has congratulated President Aliyev on becoming a grandfather.
Davis extended his best wishes to the president at a conference of the CE culture ministers that started in Baku on Tuesday, both on behalf of his organization and participants of the event.
"You are considered a grandfather twice. Being a grandfather of twins is a great reward," the CE secretary general said.
