May to warm up Azerbaijan

By Laman Sadigova
After the long, cold and protracted winter, which remnants we felt until last week, Azerbaijanis will be happy to know that May is only a ray of sunshine away. If April was a bit of a letdown May is set to be lovely.
The air temperature in May, according to predictions, will be slightly higher than normal - those who complained about the freeze, can finally thaw out.
The National Hydrometeorology Department said May will be characterized by rapidly rising high temperatures, with daily highs, increasing from 18 to 26 degrees.
The weather is expected to be stable with no sharp changes.
In May, in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula the average temperature will fluctuate in between 18 and 21 degree C, which is close to the climate norm. The air temperature at night will stand in between 11 and 16 degree C, in the afternoon around 22-27. Some days will see spikes to 30-34 degrees C.
The good news is that the length of days will gradually increase. Namely, from the start to the end of the month, the length of day will increase by 55 minutes.
It is expected that the average monthly precipitation will be close to the climate norm (norm - 18-21 mm), in some places below normal. Clouds will soon be a memory and Azerbaijan skies will be mainly a clear blue.
Over the course of May typical wind speeds may vary from light air to fresh breeze.
