Azerbaijan's gymnast wins bronze medal in Kazakhstan

Young Azerbaijani gymnast Rugiya Sattarova won bronze medal at international Rhythmic Gymnastics Aliya Yussupova Tournament, held in Kazakhstan's capital on June 20-22.

Head coach of Azerbaijan's national team, Mariana Vasileva hailed Sattarova's success, saying "the young talent has huge potential for further growth and this medal will boost her confidence in future tournaments".

The tournament brought together the strongest gymnasts of Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Moldova.

World and European Champion and Olympic silver Medalist in Athens Irina Tchachina and ten-time World Champion, European Champion and participant of the Olympic Games in Beijing Olga Kapranova were the special guests of the event.

On July 1, the Azerbaijani team will set up a training camp in Izmir to prepare for the upcoming world championship to be hosted by Turkey.
