All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress outlines activities, future plans in annual meeting

All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress has held an annual meeting to outline activities in 2013, as well as future plans and projects.

Executive Director of the Congress Ilgar Hajiyev spoke about progress of launching newspaper and website for the congress, and called on heads of regional branches to use information resources of the congress more actively.

He also informed attendees on the new project of the congress - Legal Assistance Center.

Azerbaijan's Deputy Ambassador to Russia Gudsi Osmanov said regardless of where they live, all Azerbaijanis feel their historical native land, strong support of Azerbaijani state and the president. The country's embassy is a reliable place for Azerbaijanis living in Russia, Osmanov added.

Executive Director of the Congress Ilgar Hajiyev introduced new head of St. Petersburg regional representation Elmar Shahrzayev to the participants during the event.

Chairman of Legal Assistance Center Vladislav Shvetsov and his Deputy Azer Aliyev briefed the event participants on activities of the center, saying the center will render all legal assistance to Azerbaijanis in Russia.

Some members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, who actively participate in social life of Russia, were awarded with the congress's medals and honorable diplomas.

Representatives of Azerbaijani media in Russia were also awarded.

All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress, established in 2001 under support of Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev, public organization uniting Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia. It was created to facilitate the implementation of civil rights, national, cultural, social interests and needs of Azerbaijanis living in Russia.
