New results in nano studies achieved in Azerbaijan
By Nigar Orujova
The Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) produced new results which have important scientific significance.
The new results are achieved regarding the use of ionized energy rays for the implementation of energy consuming chemical processes.
According to Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Adil Garibov, the usage of nanocatalysts in the process of producing hydrogen, which is a universal aqueous energy carrier, by the radiation-catalytic method increases the reaction rate and energy yield of hydrogen 10-15 times compared to the classic dimension catalysts.
These results can be used in a scientific reasoning of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials application in various fields. This is explained by a mechanism that reflects the strong performance of nanomaterials in various scientific and technical fields.
The results will help scientists to use radioactive rays
effectively and safely. As a result of the process, nuclear energy
is converted into the chemical energy of hydrogen. This will be
particularly important in generation IV nuclear reactors for safe
and effective conversion of electricity through the intermediate
hydrogen production.
Earlier this year nano research was also started by the Institute
of Physics of ANAS.
The results of the research will be applied in the electronic
equipment used for visualization in medicine and also in the study
of microdamage in bone and human skin.
