Azerbaijani engineers have developed a compact system of jet fire, local media reported.

The 15-barrel rocket fire system that is easy to transport and can be installed on any vehicle shoots with unguided 80-mm S-8 rockets. The system is designed to destroy enemy targets at a close range.

Also, a new type of the S-8 missile will be produced for this system in Azerbaijan. The improvement of the conventional S-8 rockets includes the reduction of length, as well as an increase in the range and radius of destruction.

Azerbaijan has been augmenting its military power and defense capabilities, and the Azerbaijani army is the most powerful in the South Caucasus region. Its skills and combat readiness are growing year-on-year. The Azerbaijani armed forces are powerful, equipped with modern military machinery and capable of fulfilling any task.

The country will allocate 2.95 billion manats (around $3.76 billion) for defense from the state budget in 2014, the Finance Ministry said earlier. According to the ministry, the funds are allocated for strengthening the national security, defense capability and logistics.

The defense expenditure in 2014 is predicted to increase by 8.7 percent compared to the forecasts for 2013.
