Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan back coop in int-l organizations

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldayev on August 14. The meeting was held in the framework of the third summit of the cooperation Council of Turkic - speaking countries, which is being held in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides changed views on the transition of presidency from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan at the cooperation Council of Turkic - speaking countries, work carried out by Kyrgyzstan during its presidency as well as Azerbaijan's activity for implementation of further development of cooperation within the organization, the foreign ministry reported.
The ministers also discussed the current bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan and ways of development of cooperation. The foreign ministers mentioned that they support the development of cooperation between the two countries within the international organizations.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan was established on January 19, 1993.
Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in 2012 amounted to $ 8.6 million, or 34 percent less compared to 2011.
Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are working together to strengthen their partnership in industry, trade, communications and transport. The two countries also intend to develop cooperation between justice authorities.
In November 2012, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement on a new air service, which envisaged carrying regular passenger and cargo flights between the two countries.
