Azerbaijani President meets vice-speaker of Republic of Korea`s National Assembly
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on May 23 a delegation of the Republic of Korea led by Park Byeong-seug, vice-speaker of the National Assembly, AzerTac state news agency reported.
Park Byeong-seug stressed the importance of the fact that Azerbaijan was ranked among the most rapidly developing economies by the International Monetary Fund. The vice-speaker also underscored the importance of the fact that high-profile international events were successfully held in Azerbaijan last year under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He described Azerbaijan`s presidency in the UN Security Council in 2012 as a remarkable event.
President Ilham Aliyev said relationship between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea was developing rapidly. The Head of State pointed out to achievements in bilateral economic cooperation, saying trade between the two countries increased. The President stressed the significance of expansion of successful activities of South Korean companies in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev also praised cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea.
Touching upon interparliamentary ties, the Head of State said Park Byeong-seug-led delegation`s visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to expansion of cooperation in this area.
They underlined the importance of participation of South Korean companies in infrastructure projects being carried out in Azerbaijan. They also said good opportunities exist for cooperation in oil and chemistry, high technology and other spheres.
